Jerez Test 12-14 June 2002 / Day 1
Following a difficult Canadian Grand Prix weekend the Panasonic Toyota Racing team moved back to Europe today for a three-day test session. Mika Salo was at the wheel of the TF102 for the team's first visit to the 4.428-kilometre Circuito Permanente de Jerez in Spain.

"This is the first time we have tested here so some time was spent during the session on mechanical car set-up to find a good balance. We also worked on hydraulic control systems and traction control as well as some other new parts. We had a few problems and didn't get much running done."

Mika Salo continues in Jerez tomorrow as the team carries out preparation for next week's European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring in Germany. Test driver Ryan Briscoe will complete the final day at the track in the south of Spain.
