Jerez Test 12-14 June 2002 / Day 3
Test driver Ryan Briscoe ended Panasonic Toyota Racing's three-day test in Jerez today. The 20-year-old Australian completed 49 laps of the Spanish track working on car balance and brakes in preparation for the European Grand Prix. In the dying minutes of the session Ryan had an excursion off track resulting in some damage to his TF102.

"It has not been such a great day of testing. We have had some problems today and I have not got as many laps done as I would have liked. Having said that we did some work on aerodynamics dampers and brakes as well as on balance. Unfortunately I had an accident at the end of the session. Coming out of turn 5 I had some understeer put two wheels over the kerb and went into the wall but apart from a bit of whiplash I am fine."

The European Grand Prix - Round 9 of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship - will be held at the Nurburgring in Germany next week and will be effectively a home Grand Prix for the Panasonic Toyota Racing team taking place only 30 minutes away from the team's Cologne-based factory.
