Key Moments from the British Grand Prix

Formation lap: Barrichello's Ferrari fails to get away in formation and has to start from the back of the field.

Lap 1

Allan fails to start after a clutch problem causes his engine to stall. Mika is eighth at the end of the lap and crosses the line behind Montoya M Schumacher R Schumacher Raikkonen Coulthard Trulli and a fast-starting Button.

Lap 7

Mika loses a position to the recovering Barrichello.

Lap 8

Mika spins at Copse. His TF102 is not handling well as the track gets wetter. He resumes 11th behind Enrique Bernoldi.

Lap 12

Light drizzle that began shortly after the start intensifies.

Lap 13

Mika has an unscheduled box stop to put intermediate tyres on his car.

Lap 15

Michael Schumacher passes Montoya for the lead.

Lap 16

Mika retires from 11th with transmission failure.

Barrichello passes Montoya for second and makes it a Ferrari 1-2.

Half distance: Michael Schumacher leads from Barrichello Montoya Ralf Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve. Nick Heidfeld is a lapped sixth just ahead of Panis and Giancarlo Fisichella.

Barrichello spins but retains second place.

After both stopping for dry tyres Montoya dives inside Barrichello at Priory to reclaim second place.

Race leader Michael Schumacher pits for dry tyres and rejoins with a 14.5s advantage.

Barrichello outbrakes Montoya into Copse to take back second place.

Schumacher scores Ferrari's 12th British GP win equalling McLaren's record while Barrichello makes it another Ferrari 1-2. Montoya is third for Williams-BMW ahead of the BAR-Hondas of Jacques Villeneuve and Olivier Panis who scored the team's first points. Nick Heidfeld completed the point scorers for Sauber.
