Rd.6 Monaco Grand Prix

Will this legendary circuit produce another stormy race?

The sixth race of the 2009 season is at Monaco, the most celebrated stage of all F1 races. As opposed to other race weekends, this legendary race begins on Thursday with a Friday break. The course is narrow and winding, which requires heavy wing and other downforce settings. The hairpin is a location where incidents occur every year, and the wider wing specification this year will make the risk all the greater. Our drivers have a good history at this course—Jarno has a Monaco GP victory on his resume, and Timo finished P3 here during his years in GP2. Qualifying in the first two rows is a must for a podium finish at Monaco. We’ll be watching intently from the very first minutes of opening practice.

2008 Grand Prix

Held on May 25, the Monaco GP was the sixth race of the 2008 season. The rainy conditions made for a rough race, with the safety car coming out on two separate occasions. Starting from P10 on the grid, Timo's car came into contact with a guard rail during the first stint, forcing him into the pits for exchanging a damaged nose. The team changed Timo over to full wet tires to match the on–course conditions, and Timo completed the race in 12th place. Jarno started from P8, running as high as P6 for a time. Unfortunately, the team’s choice of tires didn’t match the changing conditions on the course, forcing Jarno back in position where he finally finished P13.
