Rd.13 Italian Grand Prix
Legendary Monza is the scene of the final race of the European Round
The Italian GP—the 13th race of the 2009 season—will be held at its traditional home, the Monza Circuit on the outskirts of Milan. Monza is a continuing series of long straights connected by chicanes and corners, daring teams to reduce downforce to the absolute minimum. The main straight always offers numerous exciting overtaking chances as cars utilize the slipstream of the car ahead to make their move. The circuit also demands stability under braking, as drivers go flat-out to a comparative crawl through the chicanes. While the circuit layout looks rather mundane at first glance, it is actually deemed as a highly technical course, requiring a steady and light hand on the steering wheel. The key here is to maintain speed, clearing the chicanes without a dropping performance. Look for Jarno to perform well in his home country race, and for Timo to use youth as a weapon against the other drivers.

2008 Grand Prix
The Italian GP was the 14th race of the 2008 season, held on September 14. Weekend qualifying was conducted in the rain, as was Sunday's race. Jarno and Timo secured P7 and P9, respectively, in qualifying, but the race started behind the safety car. Actual racing began on lap 3, with Jarno able to defend his spot. Timo's car suffered a spin, costing on-track position. Timo gradually recovered as the race wore on. Looking for a top finish during the last stint, the team called the drivers in to change to dry tires as the track began to dry out. Unfortunately, the move cost the drivers position on track, with Timo eventually crossing the line at P11, and Jarno finishing at P13.
