The second "home grand prix" of the season   track information

After the May Grand Prix of Europe, we return to Germany for a second F1 battle. Hockenheim again provides the stage for the German Grand Prix this year. This circuit was famous for its two long straights cutting through the forest, but major remodeling in 2002 has transformed it into a very modern course. A hairpin curve was built at the end of a long, left-arcing straightaway, providing an overtake point. The course also features lengthy amounts of time on full throttle.

2005 grand prix

The twelfth race of the year, the German Grand Prix was held on July 23, 2005. Jarno and Ralf qualified 9th and 12th, respectively, both starting from the middle of the grid. A number of accidents occurred during the first lap of the race. Jarno experienced a rear tire puncture, forcing him to make an emergency pit stop. Meanwhile, Ralf was able to extend the first pit stop out to the 25th lap of the race, gaining valuable position on track. Ralf continued to fight aggressively for position with the other cars, ultimately finishing 6th for the race. Jarno was hampered by multiple car troubles, finally retiring from the race just yards from the finish line.
