Preview Practice Qualifying Race Review
Who will dominate at this legendary street course?

The fifth race of the season is the legendary Grand Prix of Monaco. The race is run entirely over a street course, with Monaco's city streets, normally packed with traffic in front of luxury hotels and high-class boutiques, closed for the race weekend. Here, first and second gears are used heavily, and surface grip is quite a bit lower compared to normal circuits. This combination demands completely different and unique settings compared to other races. This is also the only GP where the overall race distance is reduced from the normal 300km to 260km. Friday is a dark day, with practice held on Thursday.

2006 grand prix
The Monaco GP was the seventh race of the year, held on May 28, 2006. The newly upgraded version of the TF106 -the TF106B- made its debut at this race. Jarno started P6 on the grid, while Ralf started P10. Jarno protected his third spot throughout the race, looking like a lock for the podium, but on lap 73, with only five laps to go, Jarno's car experienced hydraulic system problems, forcing a disappointing retirement from the race. Meanwhile, Ralf finished P8, securing a point for Panasonic Toyota Racing.
