Racing in Indianapolis, the holy land of American motor sports!

The site of the United States Grand Prix is the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home to the Indy 500. This course, first constructed in 1908, hosted its first F1 World Championship race in 2000. A new infield section was added for the F1 World Championship race, and is used in combination with the existing oval course. The circuit at Indianapolis is a course that demands a balanced setup to deal with both high-speed and low-speed sections.

2006 grand prix
The tenth race of the year was the United States GP, held on July 2. Immediately after the start, a multi-car crash in Corner 1 forced a total of seven cars out of the race. Ralf (starting P8) and Jarno (pit-lane start) were able to avoid the trouble, and steadily improved position. Jarno, who selected a one-stop strategy, was able to defend his improved position, finishing fourth. Ralf ran P5 during the last stages of the race, but experienced trouble with his left front wheel with only 11 laps to go, resulting in a disappointing retirement from the race.
