The mid-Summer European round begins in France!
The Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, located in the Magny-Cours suburbs of the Loire region of France, is the site of the French Grand Prix. This course hosted its first F1 World Championship race in 1991. The circuit is arranged with a nice balance of high-speed sections, low-speed sections and chicanes, and an average degree of track surface grip. The Adelaide hairpin at the end of the long straightaway is one overtaking point that always sees a heated battle every year.

2007 race schedule
2006 grand prix
The French GP was the 11th race of the season, taking place on July 16. Both cars started from solid positions on the grid, with Jarno at P4 and Ralf at P5. While the other cars selected a three-stop strategy, Jarno and Ralf planned on running a two-stop race, establishing a 1-2 position during the middle stage of the battle. Unfortunately, Jarno's engine began to malfunction, causing him to eventually drop out of the race. Ralf lost a few positions due to a delay in the pit area, but he recovered during the last stage of the race, securing a fourth-place finish.
