Who will be the Survivor in this Low-Speed, MidSummer Battle?
The stage for the 11th race of the season will be the Hungarian GP, held at the twisting Hungaroring, a track layout that stymies most attempts at overtaking. As with the earlier race at Monaco, qualifying results will be extremely important. The average speed around the Hungaroring is slow compared to most F1 circuits, and the teams will set their cars to a high downforce specification. The key will be how efficiently the car can move through each corner. Naturally, tires are another important element. We expect that both Panasonic Toyota Racing cars will show the same kind of top performance they did last year.
2007 grand prix The 2007 Hungarian GP was held on August 5. Both Ralf and Jarno started in favorable grid positions, P5 and P8, respectively. Ralf demonstrated some wonderful driving during the race, fiercely defending his position. While the pit timing cost Ralf a position, he finished the race at P6, winning three championship points. While Jarno fell to 12th position immediately after the start of the race, he battled back to cross the line at P10.
