Engine Power and Aerodynamics are Key
The site of the 14th race of the season, the Italian Grand Prix, will be the Monza Circuit on the outskirts of Milan. This course, also know as the “Holy Land of F1,” features a layout linking long straights with chicanes and corners, and produces the highest average speeds of any race during the year. With much of the racing done at full throttle, the course is also hard on braking systems. One key to the race is how well the drivers can use the curbs at the “Loggia” chicane to save time. This will be a home race for our Jarno Trulli.
2007 grand prix The Italian GP was the 13th race of the 2007 season, held on September 9. Qualifying turned out to be quite a knock–down–drag–out affair, with Jarno finding himself at P9, and Ralf at P18. Jarno gave up several positions at the start of the race, but regained position using a one-stop strategy, ultimately finishing at P11. Having safely cleared the first–corner confusion at the start of the race, Ralf drove a tenacious race to the end, finishing at P15.
