ABOUT DAKAR RALLYTHE 2017 RALLY
Beginning on January 2nd in Asuncion and finishing January 14th in Buenos Aires, the rally takes place across 3 countries, Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia.
The stage schedule is as follows:
2nd Jan: Asunción (Paraguay) – Resistencia (Argentina)
3rd Jan: Resistencia – San Miguel de Tucumán
4th Jan: San Miguel de Tucumán – San Salvador de Jujuy
5th Jan: San Salvador– Tupiza (Bolivia)
6th Jan: Tupiza – Oruro
7th Jan: Oruro – La Paz
8th Jan: Rest day in La Paz
9th Jan: La Paz – Uyuni
10th Jan: Uyuni – Salta (Argentina)
11th Jan: Salta – Chilecito
12th Jan: Chilecito – San Juan
13th Jan: San Juan – Río Cuarto
14th Jan: Río Cuarto – Buenos Aires
The 2017 rally promises to be as just as physically challenging as the years before with six days in a row being spent 3000m above sea level. The difficulty will ramp up until the rest day and then ramp up once again afterwards with stages such as 977km long, 98% off-road stage 9 on Wednesday January 11th.

Various vehicles take part and compete in the rally, largely being divided into four categories:
