TEAM

TOYOTA GAZOO RACING

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) will be entering the rally, fielding a highly revised and refined version of their 2018 4WD Hilux. The Hilux features independent front and rear suspension, a mid-ship 5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, and an all-wheel drivetrain. TGR will be represented by four teams in the 2020 Rally. In car #300 will be the returning Qatari driver Nasser Al-Attiyah with French navigator Matthieu Baumel who will be defending their 2019 title. In car #304 will be committed South African driver Giniel de Villiers with TGR newcomer Spanish navigator Alex Haro Bravo. Giniel is hoping that this new navigator will help improve his position of 9th in 2019. In car #307 will be returning Dutch driver Bernhard Ten Brinke who after 4 years will be reunited with Belgian navigator Tom Colsoul. Ten Brinke will be looking to get over the heartbreak of retiring in the later stages of the 2019 rally. In car #310 is legendary Spanish racing driver Fernando Alonso who will be looking to add a Dakar Rally victory to his already long list of achievements which include; being a two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, reigning FIA World Endurance Championship titleholder with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, two-time Formula 1 World Champion, and winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona. Alongside Alonso will be Dakar motorcycle legend Spanish navigator Marc Coma. The two Spaniards are looking to make their mark in this new discipline. With such a wealth of talent and experience on the team, the 2020 Dakar Rally will truly be an exciting prospect.
