TOYOTA GAZOO Racing announces that Ryo Hirakawa will drive the GR010 HYBRID Hypercar during a test session at the Portimao circuit in Portugal on June 15-17.
The 27-year-old, who participates this year in Super GT (GT500) with TGR TEAM KeePer TOM'S and in Super Formula with carenex TEAM IMPUL, became the youngest champion in Super GT history in 2017. As a member of the Toyota Young Drivers Program (TDP) he also participated in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) in 2016-2017, including the Le Mans 24 Hours race in the LMP2 category.
In order to comply with the current travel and quarantine restrictions for his visit to Portugal, Ryo will regrettably miss the Super Formula race at Sugo, Sendai on 19-20 June.
