We did many driving during this week in Finland. It was such a good experience to drive on this very fast roads with many corners and crests. Jouni and Jarmo pointed out the things I wasn't aware of, and what the most important things are in rally. For example, at first I had a bit difficulties in gear-shifting without using clutch which I've never done before, but I think I got better through the training.
Learning the left-foot braking, I can now balance the car better in a long corner and this skill affect the time a lot. I also learned that it is very important to include as much cource information as possiblei in the pacenote. I'm looking forward to trying what I've learned in the next rally in Japan.

【Commens from Instructors】Arai did constant good runs throughout the training. He is a quick learner and improved in driving lines and left-foot baking. He will be able to go on to the next level by being more aggressive.

We did various kinds of training in Finland this week. It was hard for me to drive on the gravel road from the first day of the training, but thanks to Jouni and Jarmo's advices, I learned a lot not only the driving skills but also the importance of pacenotes. I got better understanding on what kind of points I should pay attention to during recce.
It was also a great experience to drive on the roads actually used in WRC. Through the training, I could improve in balancing the car at the corners by keeping good traction.

【Comments from Instructors】First of all Katsura had to get used to the left-hand drive car and gravel roads, and he showed a good progress day by day. Thanks to his circuit racing experience, he seems to have no hesitation in speeding at all. His next objective is to be able to control the speed.

Summary and Preview of the Next Training

Overall the trainig went very well. During the week each driver drove about 400km gravel road. Both Katsuta and Arai's attitude during the training was very serious and they improved a lot. Comparing the fist day and the last day we could see big improvements in a week.

【Next training】We will continute working on the pacenotes and basic driving skills including left-foot braking and driving lies. Each driver will work on the individual tragets such as speed control and more agressive driving.
