What is your realistic target? What do you hope for in 2006?

It is personal as well as the team’s, it is clearly we hope for wins, I mean wins, not just a single win. I wish I could say I can win here or there, I do not think it will be that easy. Every team goes into a race in order to win, it is the same with us. There is no difference, there are some races where there is more chance to be able to win but it does not matter where, we would like to win, it does not have to be anywhere in particular.

Will it be tougher than 2005?

In a way it is tougher as expectations are higher and in a way easier. We have move the goalpost since 2005 , but at the same time we now know what it takes to be up on the podium, so now we have to learn and find out what it take s to be in the middle of that podium! It is another big step. In the past we had no idea as to how to get up on the podium, did we?

What kind of results will the duo of Ralf and Jarno bring this year?

They are two different characters, different personalities, different likes and dislikes, however it is a good paring, they are on the same wavelength. Ralf, who is not known for sheer speed in qualifying is a fantastic racer, and who is better than Jarno when it comes to one lap qualifying? They do have a good influence on the team. It is a very comforting situation where both have settled down well. This time last year they were still learning the team.

What kind of influence will the new V8 engine, tyre rule and qualifying format on Toyota?

We have been preparing this engine for some time now and the tyre rule may be better than last year where the running was very limited. Especially this year we do not have the luxury of having Friday driver so it is better we are allowed to run more. Also we may see more drivers risking more because there is more than one chance in Qualifying, There are several reasons we might get more out of this year’s regulation.
However there is one unknown factor which is Bridgestone. We just do not know how well we can make use of the tyres. This is our work at the moment.

What exactly do you need to win?

Everything has to be right, we have to do our best, when I say everything, it is not only the car, but the engine, the tyres, the drivers, the team.... so can we do it?

Lastly, can we have a message for the fans visiting the official Panasonic Toyota Racing website?

Just watch us.
