2005 grand prix
Held on June 12, 2005, the Canadian Grand Prix was the eighth race of the season. Jarno qualified 9th on the grid, while Ralf was 10th. Both drivers moved up steadily in position throughout the race. In particular, Jarno made an effective dash from the starting grid, and was running well enough for a time to capture a spot on the podium. Unfortunately, with only eight laps left, Jarno's right front brake disc broke, forcing him to retire from the race. The circuit known for being tough on brakes had claimed another victim. Meanwhile, Ralf drove a determined race, ultimately finishing 6th, and winning three points for Panasonic Toyota Racing.
