Who will survive the scorching heat of the Middle East?
The third race of the year is set for the Bahrain International Circuit, located in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This will make it the second hot-weather battle in a row, but under dry desert conditions, rather than the high humidity of Malaysia. Here, the cars will have to be prepared to battle not only the heat, but also the swirling sand. The very first Bahrain GP was held in 2004, but the race has already become a solid fixture on the Grand Prix calendar.

2007 race schedule
2006 grand prix
The Grand Prix of Bahrain was actually the first race of the season last year, held on March 12, 2006. Jarno and Ralf both suffered from a lack of tire grip during qualifying, starting the race at P14 and P17, respectively. While hopes were high for the race, the drivers had some difficulty with pace, and were forced to battle at the back of the pack throughout the entire competition. Ralf selected a three-stop strategy, while Jarno elected to go with two stops. Unfortunately, neither strategy proved effective; Ralf and Jarno finished the race at 14th and 16th, respectively.
