Will Canada Once Again be a Rocky Race?
The Gilles Villeneuve Circuit, site of the Canadian Grand Prix, is located on Ile Notre Dame in the center of the St. Lawrence River, close to urban Montreal. The circuit is hard on brakes, featuring a layout with a long straight connected by two tight hairpin turns. With concrete walls on either side, the circuit is conducive to accidents, and chances are very high that the safety car will come out at least once during the race. Will fortune smile on Jarno and Timo in Canada?
2007 grand prix The 2007 Canadian Grand Prix, the sixth race of the year, was held on June 10. The race was a very rough affair, with the safety car coming out on the track no fewer than four times during the race. Jarno started from P10 on the grid, rising as high as P6 at one point, until a spin on lap 58 forced an early retirement. Meanwhile, Ralf started from P18, steadily improving position until he was able to finish the race at P8, winning one championship point for the team.
