2007 grand prix On September 30, 2007, the Japanese F1 Grand Prix was held at the Fuji Speedway for the first time in 30 years. Unfortunately, race day was beset by rain, and the race started behind the safety car. The safety car remained until the 19th lap, when the race was allowed to start in earnest. Starting from P13 and P15, respectively, Jarno and Ralf drove a hard race, peering through sheets of water. In the end, Jarno finished at P13. During the final leg, Ralf- car experienced electrical system problems caused by the rain, and he was brought into the pits. While he was able to return to the course, a tire puncture eventually forced him to pull out on the 55th lap.
