The motorsport of Supra

Pure Sport, GR Supra

GR Supra competed in the endurance race at Nürburgring, in 2018 as the Toyota A90 and in 2019 as GR Supra. GR Supra was born on the racing circuit. To manifest the potential of GR Supra to maximum effect, Toyota created the customer motorsport GT4 Series, with the same main parts for both racing cars and factory production cars.

Forged in the crucible of international motor sports, GR Supra continues to evolve.

GR Supra GT4 is continually tempered with each successive race, one milestone in that evolution being GR Supra GT4 EVO. From the technology and knowledge accrued from motor sports emerges each new iteration of GR Supra. GR Supra continues to evolve as the pure sport of customer motor sports and drivers alike.

The History of Supra

The Continuing Evolution of Supra, from One Era to the Next

Supra has been evolving alongside motor sports for many years, from Supra (A70 /80) to GR Supra (A90/91).
Supra has brought sizzle to numerous motorsports scenes, including rallies, the GT Championships, Formula Drift, NASCAR, Super GT and the GT4 Series.

GR Supra, reborn in 2019, had its origins in motor sports.
The final test for GR Supra to regain the world stage was the final round of Nürburgring in 2018, when master driver “Morizo” (Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota Motor Corporation) took the wheel of GR Supra before its commercial rollout.

Since its reemergence in 2019 as a race car, GR Supra has continued to race in the worldwide GT4 Series as GR Supra GT4, constantly honing its performance.
In 2020, a year after its 2019 debut as a commercially available car, GR Supra received a power boost. In 2022 the suspension was optimized. From 2023, GR Supra is continuing to evolve as GR Supra GT4 EVO.
