Asia regional champion to battle top international e-Motorsports drivers in GR Supra GT Cup 2020

An exciting showdown is set for 18 December when A. Aleef, regional winner of Toyota Motor Asia Pacific’s first e-Motorsports racing championship in Asia, the “GR Supra GT Cup ASIA 2020,” competes with best-in-class e-Motorsports drivers from around the world and vies to take home the “GR Supra GT Cup 2020” crown. The global race will pit 24 players, including top-ranked international e-Motorsports drivers, against one another in an online streaming event that will determine the series champion.

Toyota Motor Asia Pacific’s first virtual motorsport racing championship in Asia, the “GR Supra GT Cup ASIA 2020” drew to a close on Sunday (25 October) with a thrilling finale. Fifteen challengers from five participating countries – Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and India, showed off the power, balance and agility of Toyota’s iconic sports car, GR Supra, by racing it online through one of the most demanding tracks in the world, the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife track in Germany. The demanding route put the car and drivers to a hard test, and finalists from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand raced neck-to-neck in the last laps of the race.

Toyota Motor Philippines announces the launch of their latest online E-Sports program – GR Supra GT Cup Asia – Philippines

The GR Supra GT Cup Asia – Philippines, an e-racing event under Toyota’s Gazoo Racing motorsports program, will be fully held online and will be open to the public, ages 18 and above. “Finally, Toyota fans can participate in our sports program at the comfort and safety of their own homes. We also expect this activity to reach a wider and younger audience, based on the profile of gamers.” The online e-race, using Toyota’s legendary sports car icon, the GR Supra, is expected to start in July 2020.
