We hope to connect various findings obtained through e-motorsports to ”making ever-better cars” in the future.
By involving e-motorsports as one of the pillars of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing motorsports activities, we are actively working to make motorsports and sport cars more accessible, and enjoyable across generations and around the world. Then, we hope to connect various findings obtained through e-motorsports to ”making ever-better cars” in the future.
About e-motorsports
“Gran Turismo Sport” for PlayStation®*4 (PS4®) is a game that provides players with an easy way to enjoy the real-world movements of cars and the excitement of motorsports; it is played by many users who compete day and night. The game sees these drivers as equal to real-world racing drivers and, in collaboration with FIA (the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), has established a motorsport for a new generation: the FIA-certified Gran Turismo Championships. At present, many players have entered the competition from the world.

FIA GT Manufacturer Series
Players enter into voluntary contracts with their manufacturer (primarily automakers) of choice, with the manufacturers competing for championship victory. Cars are loaned to players by the manufacturers. When a manufacturer’s car completes a race, the manufacturer acquires FIA GT Manufacturer Series points. The winner of the championship is decided by the total number of points acquired over the course of the series. TOYOTA and LEXUS also participated as one of the manufacturers, and Team TOYOTA won the annual title in the 2019 series.
FIA GT Nations Cup
Players compete in the FIA GT NATIONS CUP as representatives of their country or region. When they complete the race, they acquire FIA GT NATIONS CUP points. The winner of the championship is decided by the total number of points acquired over the course of the series. Leading players from all over the world compete in races that are decided by mere hundredths of a second—the excitement is no different to real-world racing.
All manner of series races (including one-make races)
A number of other series races are hosted by a variety of parties. Like the FIA GT MANUFACTURER SERIES and the FIA GT NATIONS CUP, the winners are decided by the total number of points accumulated throughout the series, with points being awarded according to race results after each round. Races in which players compete using the exact same car model are known as “one-make races.”
Daily Races
Daily Races are online races that take place every day, and that are updated on a regular basis. Beginners can first refine their skills here. Players do not compete for points; however, completing in a race has an effect on a player’s ratings (the “Driver Rating,” which indicates a player’s speed, and the “Sportsmanship Rating,” which indicates the standard of a player’s manners on track) and, by increasing their ratings, players become eligible to compete against high-level drivers.
